Dear guests of Casa do Dragão Azul,

Some years ago , good friends of ours introduced us to Portugal and the Algarve in particular. This beautiful region has captured our hearts ever since.

We fell hopelessly in love with the warmth and the relaxed hospitality of the Portuguese, the varied landscape with its magnificent rock formations along the coast and its tiny deserted beaches, the mighty red earth, the magic and the splendor of the Atlantic, the intense light, the omnipresent sun, the picturesque small towns with their whitewashed houses and the fascinating history of this nation of explorers and adventurers. It just seemed the perfect place to simply relax and enjoy life.

By coincidence, or was it fate, the opportunity to buy this property and to realise a long cherished dream of finding our own place under the sun, just presented itself to us a few months later.

This house has a soul. You can sense it in so many small observations : the calm rustle of the waves, a beautiful sunset, a lost beetle, a hearty glass of Portuguese vinho and some home-preserved olives, or a cock's crowing in the distance...
